Updates to r/Unikitty

Hello! This is just a brief announcement to highlight some changes going forward.

I am a new mod here! I have been a long-time fan of Unikitty and her show, and since I am an active user here I felt it was a good idea to help our community with moderation. Going forward, moderation will be much quicker to help ensure we create a safe and positive community for everyone.

That being said, I have taken the time to consolidate our community rules to make things more clear and concise, I strongly recommend reviewing them!

I wanted to specifically highlight our new rule against AI generated images. This is a new rule, so it would be unfair to retroactively enforce it, but going forward posts that contain AI generated images are not allowed. We want this space to be safe and inclusive for artists, and one of the best ways we can do that is by showing respect by not posting AI generated images. This shows that you care about the time and effort they put into their work as well as giving their posts the space to receive the attention they deserve.

AI generated imagery is an evolving technology, and it will be tougher to moderate as it matures due to it being harder to distinguish from art. If you suspect a post contains AI generated images, report it! We will do our best to recognize these AI images but your support would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for being a part of our wonderful community and I look forward to helping it grow!

Insane Loading Times When In a Party

I don't know why more of you guys aren't talking about this, maybe you queue up solo, but whenever I queue with my friend we are forced to deal with insane loading/disconnect times after almost every mission. It's ridiculous. It is literally faster to just close the game and load back into Save the World than wait for it to load. This has been happening for months now and I'm sick of it. (Sonic 06 gameplay, on Xbox 360 loading from disc, added for reference of how bullshit this is)

Community Bug List

There's so many bugs in this game I feel as a community we should keep a collaborative list like in a document or something and then every update post every bug that's still currently in the game. I feel like there's bugs that not many people bring up and would benefit from constant circulation so the community knows absolutely everything that's broken with the game

They Destroyed This Game

I play this game in a party with my friend. After every time we play a match, if it connects us properly, it gives us a super long loading screen and then boots us back to the main lobby. The load times are so bad. They are literally worse than Sonic 06. I'm not joking.

Yesterday we tried playing and he connected but I got an infinitely long loading screen. I closed the game and tried to rejoin. Party errors galore. I was able to join the party once and got another infinite loading screen. I could hear the ingame environment and was spawned in on his screen but couldn't move. I had to watch his stream and watched as him and a random lost the match while I was stuck looking like an AFK leecher.

The player count is lower than before F2P launch. They have completely obliterated matchmaking and made sure to fire their best people so the game will never have a chance to comeback.

Unikitty for Year 3

Do you guys believe that if we got a year 3 they would have adapted the Unikitty TV show? It's such an obvious yes for me but it seems that the show is always overlooked. I think with its trend of getting the original voice actors, as well as Tara already being associated with the game, it would have been a much more faithful adaptation than what we got in The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame. Also it would have been very interesting to get interactions between Movie and TV Unikitty. What characters do you think they would have made playable? If TV Unikitty was made to be a separate playable character how do you think her abilities would differ from her Movie counterpart?

I think Dragons Rising is a great show, and the writers have made a lot of tough creative decisions to try to make the story and world feel more cohesive, biggest being the merge, but I think it also negatively impacts the sense of scale when it comes to NINJAGO'S world. Before, when things were separated into different realms, most of them felt like they could stretch forever, and be a planet in their own universe. Now, it's known that they're all connected, and each realm realistically has to physically connect with each other on the same planet.

Some of the realms have been scaled down to act as narrative pitstops rather than lived in worlds. Cloud Kingdom is a good example of this I believe, compare its new iteration to the old one and it feels like it doesn't really have the sense of scale or culture that it had before.

The biggest thing that annoys me though are the background characters, more specifically the amount of them and the variety. It always rubbed me the wrong way that no matter what location we're in, most of the background characters are just recolors of models from the wildbrain seasons. The scene where Imperium stood their ground really disappointed me, there were so few people and I don't think I really felt the sense of scale that I think they were going for. There's a lot of scenes like that. I know the team working on the show most likely doesn't have the budget for that but I think regardless that's the impact on the show.
