So this has cropped up a few times in other threads I started/commented in, but it seems like some people get durian seeds from Jepun and some don't, and I'm curious if anyone has a theory as to why this is.

I've nearly finished the entire DLC - have maxed every villager but Bima, am only missing one lizard, and just got the last beetle quest, after finishing the entire main story. But even though I check Jepun's shop every day, I have never gotten any durian seeds - only dragonfruit, watermelon, honey melon, and pineapple. I don't know if there's something I've missed, if it's just an exceptionally bad RNG issue, or what.

The only thing I can say I haven't actually maxed out is the levels of the excess employees - I've got the billionaire guy as my cook, then the little green man and the country singer as my servers, all to level 10. I didn't bother with anyone else except the living genshin guy because he was one of the first I recruited, but I can't imagine that any of them - and why are there so many of them, anyway? - not being leveled up would cause this. But maybe it does! I'm just kind of throwing spaghetti at the wall at this point.

So as I said, I was wondering - does anyone have any idea why this might be? Have the devs mentioned it at all?

EDIT: I guess the solution was complaining because for the first time I just got durian seeds in Jepun's shop and I didn't do anything different lol

Since I know I was having an issue with the ambiguous language of some beetle hunting guides - nobody's fault, this expansion just came out - I wanted to share some things I have learned about while trying to finish up the insectagram:

1. If you're popping in and out of an area to respawn beetles, DO NOT TOUCH ANY YOU DON'T NEED. And I don't just mean don't fight them, I mean don't interact with them AT ALL. It seems like once you interact with a beetle in a specific spot and lose to it/let it go, unless you come back the next day, no new beetle will respawn there no matter how many times you leave and re-enter.

2. I found the metallic beetle on B3 of the temple during the day. So it isn't dusk only and it doesn't only appear on the first floor as many guides I've read told me. I found it on the wall of B3 right after the first bridge, for specifics.

The only beetle I have left to find at this point is the giraffe beetle, which is supposed to be one that shows up Whenever in the forest. But I know the metallic beetle was causing myself - and a lot of others! - trouble, so I wanted to maybe help out people still looking for that or for others.

I've been trying to just do what I've seen people say to do - go to murau temple at dusk, leave and re-enter the temple until the beetle appears - but I have been doing exactly that for at least an hour and I don't know if this is just my horrible RNG luck or if I'm missing something.

I waited until the last second during the day to actually go into the forest, just before it stops letting you because you have to go to the grill - and I've been walking in and out of 1F of the temple dozens of times ever since. I think it would be helpful if people who found the beetle could give a specific area of where on the first floor they found it; everything I have seen says "upper right corner by the entrance" but the entirety of the first floor is an upper right corner in relation to the entrance. Do I have to go all the way back to the stairs that lead to lower floors? Or is there a wall it spawns on that's closer? It would save me a lot of time if I didn't have to check every nook and cranny every single time I went in.

Plus I'll get the antaeus beetle and the atlas stag beetle and the rosenberg's beetle but the metallic one Never shows up, and in fact after exiting and entering the temple a few times there aren't Any beetles that spawn anymore. So I don't know if it's, again, horrible RNG luck or a glitch.

Anyway, can anyone say for certain where on the first floor they found the metallic beetle? Like what "upper right hand corner" are we talking about?

So I have a new question: I did get the final upgrade of the net gun, and I really like the wave pulse because I don't have to be as close to the fish as I did with the circle pulse version. However, it doesn't seem to work on the ammonites and orthoceras anymore. Every time I use it - and it seems like you have to use multiple pulses before the blue aura wears off to actually get the fish to sleep - the ammonite just retreats into its shell, and the orthoceras doesn't seem bothered at all. Is there a trick that I'm not getting? Or are these fish just "immune" to the wave pulse gun somehow because of their shells?

I'm in chapter five of Into the Jungle and I want to upgrade to the wave sleep net gun, as the tranq gun between having an actual net and what is supposed to be one of the best guns in the expansion really sucks. Like why did they think it would work well to point a very close range sleep ray at fish that are constantly swimming at or away from you?

Anyway, the requirements for the wave sleep gun say I need an aquilolamna wing. I'm wondering - is that something I can get to only after I defeat the huge dinosaur stuck at the bottom of the sea beneath the lake? Do I have to wait that long to be able to get a tranq gun that's actually effective?
