A Lokayukta raid involving KAS officer B. Mallikarjuna has raised serious questions about alleged disproportionate assets.

According to reports, authorities reportedly uncovered around ₹2.53 crore in cash and details of nearly 100 acres of land, with the total assets under scrutiny reportedly exceeding ₹13 crore.

What makes the case even more striking is the reported claim that the officer had not even drawn his salary, raising questions about the source of such wealth.

This is currently an investigation/allegation, not a conviction. The authorities will have to establish how the assets were acquired and whether they are disproportionate to legitimate income.
