Is it acceptable to play music this loud in apartment?

This is my neighbour opposite to me. He plays music this loud most of the days and late at the night as well. It can be heard on more than one floor below when I was checking why nobody else is complaining. This is taken at 1am on a work night. Next morning is working day for most people.

Is this normal volume and acceptable fun?

Or Is it illegal and is it classed noise pollution/disturbance?

The shouting volume they are speaking at can frequently be heard from this person’s balcony also. Often he will have guest who screams.

Edit to update: I have checked with some others neighbours as well they are all saying it’s disturbing them a lot but it seems they don’t want to make a complaint and will pretend it’s not disturbing because they are close friends with this man (ceo of some company in Dubai) or they don’t want to stand against the community in our building who discriminates against others to allow such behaviours only amongst the keralites and their friends. They will then target the other neighbour’s normal goings on, eg. nobody else allowed to have parties, complaints are made towards children, anyone else's tv sound.

His direct neighbour has been complaining that our children are too loud when they play at normal hours. But not about this loud blasting music that is played at all hours of day. He also is driving under alcohol influence sometimes.

You can tell what sort of culture these people have because they think they are above everyone that common areas also belongs to them.

Are Bengaluru & Chandigarh Really Richer Than Shanghai and Beijing? The Numbers Look Surprising

Bengaluru and Chandigarh show average household incomes of around ₹29 LPA Source

On the other hand, cities like Shanghai and Beijing report household disposable incomes of around $26–28k (25 Lpa in Indian money) which is slightly less than Bengaluru and Chandigarh (See the last column which says disposable income per household)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_Chinese\_provincial-level\_divisions\_by\_disposable\_income\_per\_capita

At first glance, this makes it look like top Indian cities might actually be richer than China’s richest regions.

Is that really true, or is something off in how these numbers are being compared?

A government bus. No headlights. One conductor. One phone.

A KKRTC bus set off from Kalaburagi towards Chincholi.

There was just one tiny issue.

The bus had no working headlights.

The driver still had to get everyone home. So the conductor took out his phone.

I thought he was trying to inspect the dashboard.

No.

He was compensating for the transport department's missing hardware.

For the next 84 kilometres, Karnataka's public transport was operating under the assumption that nobody called the conductor.

Then I remembered Karnataka still owes ₹4,573 crore in Shakti reimbursements to its RTCs.

Suddenly... the transport department's balance sheet had become visible.

By the time they reached Chincholi... the passengers had reached their destination safely.

The phone had done everything the headlights were supposed to do.

The transport department had reached a new low.

Can whistleblowers be exposed or penalised by police in bangalore?

Whatever the whistleblower's motive, she took a risk and exposed such a cruel act which happens to our children. police's legal duty is to protect the identity and safety of whistleblowers.

Is it a crime in Bangalore to expose a crime? Why is the government doing nothing about the police harassing the whistleblowers?

Is it alright to travel in metro with a suitcase? (Medium sized)

Same as the title. I can shove the suitcase under the seat hopefully so it shouldn't be a problem for fellow passengers.

But I have to change lines and all . If the train becomes too filled then i won't be able to extract my luggage in time .

Ideally I'd take a cab but the traffic is too horrible for me to risk it.

Time for some action for reducing traffic

There are probably 10 traffic rants on this sub daily.
But no action.
I recently met with the traffic commissioner, Kartik Reddy.
He agreed that reducing the number of vehicles along with more public transit options is the only way to reduce congestion. Don’t forget 2,500 vehicles on average are added to our roads, DAILY.
I recommended to help legalise and introduce regulations around private carpooling. Reducing single occupancy vehicles is one of the fastest ways to reduce congestion. He’s willing to take the case forward. I have provided supporting data from governments around the world who have legalised white board carpooling. To further strengthen my case, i was thinking of making sort of like a petition where I can record votes / support from residents who align with my vision.
Open to suggestions, as I’ve never done anything like this before. Is this a good approach?

Absolutely sick of commuting for 3 hours daily. Something has to be done.

Why has it been so windy for the past 5 days

The weather has been extremely windy for the past 5 days now.

No rain.

Lots of dust.

Sickening weather. 1 or 2 days feels ok but the same gloomy weather for days is unpleasant.

There's this itchiness in the throat as well which I blame back to the wind.

Ejipura flyover: no footpath between Koramangala water tank and Kendriya Sadan

I wanted to post about this earlier, but with footpaths finally becoming a topic of discussion again, maybe this will get some attention.

As part of the Ejipura flyover construction, the footpaths on both sides of the road from the Koramangala Water Tank junction to the front of the Central Public Works Department (Kendriya Sadan) have been completely demolished. There is literally no safe place to walk.

This stretch is used by hundreds, if not thousands, of pedestrians every day. People are forced to walk alongside fast-moving, heavy, and often chaotic traffic because there is simply no alternative.

Basic pedestrian access shouldn't disappear for years during a major infrastructure project.

I often see discussions about footpaths in Indiranagar, Malleswaram, and other well-off neighbourhoods. But what about stretches like this, where thousands of ordinary people walk every day? These pedestrians deserve the same level of attention and safe infrastructure.
