Why are we forced to pay ₹3,600/year just to receive bank OTPs?

Keeping a SIM active for mandatory KYC and 2FA now costs roughly ₹3,600/year per person—meaning a family of four spends ₹14,400 annually just to keep numbers alive. Despite most households having Wi-Fi, telecom operators keep hiking tariffs by 20% while offering zero basic plans for people who don't need mobile data bundles. TRAI urgently needs to mandate an annual plan under ₹500 strictly for receiving OTPs and basic incoming calls.

Fake Handicap busted in Bengalore

While I was in HSR, a woman who claimed to be mute came to our house asking for money. She was holding a large laminated certificate and using hand gestures to demand cash. I politely told her that I had already donated to some locals in my hometown who were in trouble that week and didn't have any money left to spare. She clearly understood me, but kept insisting.

So, I directly but nicely told her, "I don't know you, and I don't make a habit of giving money to random people who ask." Suddenly, her whole attitude changed. She gave me a furious look—as if I actually owed her something—and marched off to the next house. I really hated that reaction. I don't owe her anything, and it was frustrating to see her drop the act the second she realized she wasn't getting a dime out of us.
