I am left with indescribable feeling about this penultimate finale

Seeing how the end of this universe I once had such high hopes for and was excited to see the conclusion of this 2 year arc and the epic finale where they’ve taken what’s happened over the last two years of preparation and after a vigorous battle with the maker in the city they’d find a way curb him, I understand I should always set my expectations at a certain level but I didn’t expect two major players in the game to be so unceremoniously dispatched in the wickedest of ways, seeing this just felt so off especially when it felt like both of these heroes were just getting their time to shine , cap was building a rapport with all the new heroes he was recruiting and building to a better future and then within one issue cap is ruined to emotional pieces because he had to put down Bucky which I understand but in the end he made that call and there are much larger stakes at hand currently, to be tossed aside by captain Britain just seemed so belittling to a character who had so much potential depth in him with the slight twist on the man stuck in ice waking up to a country that dosing exist anymore plot. I will never forget you soldier

Now spidermen especially in his line in ultimate spiderman has been put to the side for half of the comic books life span had it just ended the other month on a hopeful ending of them being united as a family for what to come and Peter ends up getting merked by his own suit without a fight??? I don’t know, ultimate peter could have been so much more and could have even been the face that inspired heroes in the ultimate line seeing as he served as a perfect example of someone just getting into the fight and doing what they can little by little, but none of that happened.

Ultimately I don’t know, this really worries me for the ultimate fate of Tony, I don’t want to see him go out sad

Seeing how the end of this universe I once had such high hopes for is concluding, I really thought I was gearing up to see the conclusion of a two-year arc and an epic finale. One where everything built over this long stretch would finally pay off, where after a brutal, hard-fought battle with the Maker in the city, they’d find a way to finally put him down and for the first time in their lives, take control of their own destiny.

I know I should keep my expectations in check, but I genuinely didn’t expect two major players to be dispatched so unceremoniously.

It just felt off, especially when it seemed like both of these heroes were finally getting their time to shine. Cap was building something real in this world, forming a rapport with the new heroes, trying to shape a better future, and then within a single issue he’s reduced to emotional ruin after being forced to put down Bucky. I understand the weight of that choice, and I get the friendship they had for sure, but it still felt like he was being tossed aside right when his arc was reaching something meaningful instead of being shoe-pinned. And then to have him tossed aside by Captain Britain just felt belittling in a way that belittles how much potential depth he had, especially with that twist on the “man out of time” who wakes up to a country that doesn’t exist anymore. I will never forget you Soldier.

And then there’s Spider-Man. Especially in Ultimate Spider-Man, he’s been pushed to the side for a good portion of the series’ life span, only for things to finally land on a hopeful note recently, with the idea of him being reunited with his family and what comes next. And then Peter just gets merked by his own suit without even really getting a fight??? I don’t know. Ultimate Peter could have been so much more. He could have been the heart of this entire Ultimate line, the one who embodies what it means to step into the fight early, learn as you go, and keep pushing forward no matter how small the progress. But none of that really came to be.

Ultimately I don’t know, this really worries me for the ultimate fate of Tony, I don’t want to see him go out sad 😞
