What would you define as “modern AU”

This is probably stupid, but also it’s a genuine question I have, when writing a fic that is set in a different time what is modern? Like if I am writing a fic about a story that original took place in the 1800s can it still be “modern” if the fic starts in 2003? Or like would it need to be 2026 to be modern.

On the other more stupid hand if a original story is still in the future and you want to write a contemporary fic would that technically be a “historical” au

Help Sourcing Skimpleshanks clothing prices +tips if you have them

So I have decided that I need to make a Cats the Jellical ball Skimpleshanks custom. Rather impulsively but still I have a Josefina Mold base and Rapunzel wig on the way to my house. But also American girl sized subway conductor outfit is not common nor is thigh high boots. Skimbles second outfit might be a little easier to source for but also the hat and boots.

So I guess if you know were I could source some clothing prices from or if you know someone who have doll clothes commissions open. And Or if you have done the strip hair on your Alyissa Liu Customs and could give some advice on making it look good.

I got my Elphie her PJs finally! LOL

Like these are so cute and high quality! My one goal for my dolls is to get them all their PJs or PJs that are for them in the case of some GOTYs who never got PJS and I am so happy I got these! Did I only paided like 10 dollars over retail so I am not complaining on the price end either. I am saying 80 dollars for doll PJs is wild work on AG’s side

Light re-start of collection?

There's a part of me that wants to get rid of all my dolls that aren't in the shape I want them to be in or I lost parts of their outfits and accessories, and it's cheaper to just buy a new doll than to buy meet outfits and accessories on the second-hand market. This would also let me access what I want to collect and how I want to collect. If you have done this, do tell me how it went and how you went about it.
