Am working on a suite of pieces for Piano, Winds, and Strings. I'm calling it SpaceFugue and it is inspired by various space adventure tropes.

Here's three of the eight pieces. They are intended to be simple enough to be read by intermediate (roughly high school or above) players. All forms of feedback (musical, notation, stylistic) are appreciated. Thank you!

How silly is this idea for a small local business?

Hello,

I'm a local musician (classical pianist), formerly at HSU, er, CPH. I've for roughly half a decade or so been thinking about something I really don't know a lot about, namely running a small local shop. My idea is it would be primarily a cheese shop, probably specializing in local cheeses, but also possibly a game store as well (I'm a chess player). My last name is Chernoff so I was thinking of calling it "Chernoff's Chess and Cheese". I of course have no idea if this is something locals would be interested in or not and am not sure how to go about taking the first real steps towards this, so I thought I'd start by asking here as if nothing else I feel like you guys will give your honest, unfiltered opinions. :)

Anyhow, in all seriousness, any thoughts/advice/suggestions/etc. is much appreciated. Thanks.

Sincerely,

- John

I've got about halfway through the development. It's straight up sonata-allegro form. Lots of articulations and slurs are missing, sorry. I'm open to pretty much most feedback though I'd like to not belabor the fact it's in many ways somewhat 19th century (or possibly early 20th) in spirit.

I'm mostly a pianist, have worked as one for several decades as an accompanist and chamber musician. Sometimes some string playing colleagues occasionally perform stuff I've written . Am trying to wade a bit into "official" composing a bit more, if that's even a thing these days. Anyhow, thanks for listening.

My reasoning is that A) the top 20 are probably all cheating anyhow and B) I don't need the best players, just two with similar ratings.

I think what I'd like is for the actual top two players to be determined by style - how many en passants, how many Kings on e4 by move 12, and so forth. Go wild. Pipi everywere.

P.S.- >I want to blow about $500 on the prize fund for this.

P.P.S. -> This is a serious post.

Love,
- John
