E50 Orientation and Training
Hey guys, so I was offered a position as a Structural Engineer I in the E50 department during the summer and I finally was able to schedule my start date for the end of October.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the orientation and training is like and maybe give suggestions on ways I could prepare for the job in the coming weeks?
I originally applied as a Mechanical Engineer, but it was suggested that I could be a fit for a Structural Engineer. I did well in Mechanics of Materials and Statics, but I have not taken any FEA and I wouldn't say I fully understood my Dynamics and Vibrations course even though I did pass.
This is going to be my first engineering position, so any help on how not to be a detriment to my department would be appreciated.
