Upgrading from a Canon 1100D on a $390–$520 budget: Is the Sony a6300 the right move, or should I look elsewhere?

I’m currently shooting with a Canon 1100D and two kit lenses (18-55mm and 55-250mm). I’ve hit a wall with my current gear and am looking for an upgrade. My budget is around $390–$520 for a used body.
My main priorities are image quality, high burst rate for action, and portability.
What I shoot:

  • High Priority: Travel (10), Landscapes (10), Cars (9), Architecture (8), Animals/Birds (8).
  • Action/Sports: Basketball (5), Spotting (7), Sports in general (7).
  • Others: Portraits (7), Street/General (7), Night photography (7), Video (7).

I’m considering the Sony a6300, but I’m open to alternatives. Here are my main questions:

  1. Action/Sports Performance: How does the a6300 (or its alternatives) hold up for fast subjects compared to my 1100D? Is the AF tracking still competitive in 2026?
  2. Alternatives: Given my budget, what other cameras should I consider? I’ve seen mentions of the Fujifilm X-T3 (often cited as a great hybrid [1.4.1]), Sony a6000 (if I want to save money for better glass [1.2.1, 1.3.1]), or perhaps switching to a different ecosystem entirely. What would be the best "bang for your buck" for sports and travel?
  3. Portability: A key goal for me is to have a much more compact setup than my current DSLR gear.

I’m looking for straightforward, practical feedback. Does the a6300 make sense for these specific needs, or is there a better option for a hobbyist like me?
Thanks for your help!

Help me choose: R10 VS R50

Hello everyone I'm thinking about switching to a mirrorless camera in the summer, and I'm trying to decide which one to get. I'm currently using a 1100D, but it's not suitable for volleyball or sports. I want an R10, but it's not within my budget, so I'm considering an R50. Which one should I choose?
Features: Sport, Street , Wildlife; Already have a EF-S 55-250mm. Level - amateur. Budget - 800$
