How’s everyone doing ? Anything interesting?

Hi, I worship Aphrodite and am completely dedicated to her. She has changed my life so much, as I’ve detailed before, and she really is my anchor and my core for engaging in this world. She’s done so much for me, I can never thank her enough.

With that being said, I am part of a small new community where we pray to her, but this is the only one I’m aware of. There has to be others surely ?

Please point me in the right direction toward where I can connect with fellow Aphrodite worshippers and specifically to worship her together, whether over zoom or discord voice chat or however we can coordinate it. Since Aphrodite is so important to me I really feel the need to be able to share this with others who likewise worship her.

I want to mention I’m 32 so I’m not looking for anything more oriented towards significantly younger people; 20s is good but nothing younger.

Hi, I am peacefulman0706 on Discord, and I became an Aphrodite worshipper a little over a year ago.

I am a Catholic so I was hesitant to worship Aphrodite; however, Catholicism proudly proclaims that the good, the true and the beautiful go together, which I think comes from Plato originally, and after I saw Botticelli’s Birth of Venus I said to myself ‘what is good and true can be debated but I can see her beauty with my own eyes, why not worship Aphrodite?’ And I decided to follow my heart in this and worship Aphrodite. Which makes a lot of sense and something Aphrodite certainly approved of, because she visited me in several dreams to encourage me.

It took me longer to feel her presence. I initially was trying to adapt the Catholic Rosary to an Aphrodite Rosary because I had had really good results from the Catholic Rosary in terms of feeling Mary’s presence, so I felt the wisest thing to do would be to take the structure of the Rosary and substitute in Aphrodite’s epithets.

The reason I didn’t simply go with Aphrodite’s surviving hymns like the Orphic Hymn and the Homeric Hymn is because in my opinion they are incomplete and not what devotees would have used for mystic states or length rituals. The Orphic Hymn is suitable as a brief invocation but it’s far from enough by itself to really feel your soul change.

The Homeric Hymn in my opinion has been tampered with in order to reduce the status of a cosmic Goddess to be less threatening to the patriarchal Zeus order; while I love parts of it I don’t love the beginning where they take a swipe at Aphrodite and represent that Zeus made her fall in love with Anchises. Since when is that a power of Zeus ? It seems like such an overt interpolation into the flow of a love story.

It seems to me the original is simply a story of Aphrodite falling in love with Anchises as she sees him from above, and she disguises herself so he won’t be afraid to sleep with her. Very much a story of the Goddess having complete agency. In what way would this be seen as humiliating for the Goddess of love to have love ? It wasn’t, it’s something very in her character. But later the Greeks interpolated the story with this thing about how Aphrodite needs to know her place and Zeus is for sure the big boss. Purely to reinforce patriarchy.

With that said, we can still use the Homeric Hymn but just being aware the long work is not without interpolation.

Finally I was inspired to further adapt my Aphrodite Rosary and by adding Anadyomene as her fourth epithet I call on, it achieved the desired effect and I could feel her presence with me.

With that said, as an Aphrodite worshiper I don’t want to offer and pray alone always. Yet I don’t know anyone in waking life. I was inspired to create a Discord. This is SFW and for adults. The reason for that is I’m 32 and I need to establish community with people closer to my own age.

It’s well known that offerings and prayers in a group are more powerful. That’s why churches are effective. Also, I personally can feel the Divine Connection in certain groups so much stronger than alone. The way Christians were able to take over the Roman world was by disrupting the sacrifices and group rituals to the Hellenic deities, and unfortunately that was allowed to take place. We won’t be able to become more present in the world unless we reestablish group offerings and prayer, that’s a fact.

I love Aphrodite I am dedicated to her and I want to pray and offer with others. For a start I am doing it at 6 PM on Tuesday nights. Please join and help boost our signal, we are going to take turns with the Aphrodite Rosary decades and there will be opportunity for you to pray any particular prayer you have to her as well. The main thing is we can’t keep on being isolated, I feel so strongly we have to come together united in our devotion to the Goddess at this time. If Aphrodite is important to you as she is to me I think she will be more than able to create a community we can worship her in.

The darker forces of our universe are constantly boosting their signal, and speaking for myself it can be hard to remain centered on the Goddess of love. But it would help if I could talk more to others who share my devotion. Reddit is great but it’s not personal enough and you don’t necessarily encounter the same people again.

This server is not NSFW to be clear although depictions of classical art or statues are fine. Also it is 18+ because I’m 32 myself and I’m hoping to make like minded friends, and I’m a millennial myself. I’m also happily married, this is strictly hoping to help with the community I have looked for for a while unsuccessfully. What exists on Discord now is mostly for the younger demographic and I feel somewhat out of place

So, I converted in 2020, and right away I realized that while I liked Confession as a way to keep accountable and I liked the Mass, as far as my personal relationship I wanted a personal relationship with Mary and also to worship her.

So I did that, but eventually I ran into a problem where I became too world denying. I essentially became excessively holy and pure and I didn’t care about the world or really what happened because I was just happy with the pure holy Rosary, and I was too passive and just accepted everything as Gods will.

Then I began worshiping Aphrodite and I decided this was good. Aphrodite is world accepting instead of world denying and she helped me connect with others and love far more than before.

So to me these two Goddesses balance each other out.
