Why is my celery growing like this?

Why is my celery growing like this?

I never get stalks like they sell in the grocery store. These are skinny and long and only good to flavor soups with.

I was reading about how some creatures in nature completely give their life force and their 'color' to ensure their offspring can survive. It made me realize that some humans do this too. They live in quiet, 'logistical' marriages where the spark is gone, but the commitment to the home is absolute. It’s a lonely path, and sometimes they try to fix the outside (the smile, the face) when the inside is just tired. Yet, there is a quiet beauty in two people who are detached but still have each other’s backs.

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone else who feels like they’re living a 'sacrificial' chapter right now. You aren't invisible.
