PRO AUDIO - Killers, London 2025

After a long time trying to match every 2025 gig with that pro audio, i found out that this recording was from London Stadium 2025. That means they probably recorded the whole show, or at least the audio (there are rumors that they keep at least the audio from every show).

So here his the pro audio matched with fan recordings.

The audio comes from promo clips from the band : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/gqAMRBJVvD8

My best encounter during my trip to Japan

While wandering around Tokyo, I came across a record shop with an impressive selection of Iron Maiden bootlegs, stocking around twenty different titles. I recognised CDs and DVDs that I had previously only ever seen online. I already knew that Japan was one of the main countries producing this kind of unofficial release.

At that point, I remembered coming across a physical edition of my multi-camera edit of Iron Maiden's Barcelona concert, which I had uploaded to YouTube in 2024, on eBay a few months earlier. I had found it fascinating, although I never went as far as buying it. I then wondered whether that DVD had been produced in Japan. After doing some research, I confirmed that it had indeed been released there by Shades, one of the best-known names in the bootleg scene, under its Lighthouse Records label. As the DVD was listed as being in stock at the shop, I decided to go and pick up a copy.

Because this business is still illegal, the shop has very little online presence, and it took me quite a while to track down its address. Even so, it is a legendary place among bootleg collectors, with musicians such as Jimmy Page and Joe Elliott having visited it over the years.

The shop was located on the ninth floor of a building in Shinjuku. As soon as I walked in, I was astonished by the sheer number of titles. I would estimate that there were close to 300 Iron Maiden CDs and DVDs alone.

I asked the owner whether he had the DVD I was looking for in stock. He said he did and immediately handed it to me. That was when I explained that I was actually the creator of the video edit. At first, he seemed rather sceptical, but after I explained everything in more detail and showed him my YouTube channel, he realised I was telling the truth. His reaction changed completely: he became genuinely enthusiastic and delighted to meet me. He told me that, in his opinion, it was the best edit of The Future Past Tour that he had seen.

We spent a long time talking about the importance of bootleg recordings, his work which he has been doing for more than 25 years and our shared passion for this world. He gave me two copies of the DVD and even invited me to help myself to anything in the shop. Thanks to that, I was able to pick up recordings of the Paris concert on 19 June 2025, which I had been actively searching for, with very little success, before my trip.

The most incredible moment came at the end of our conversation. Simply out of kindness, and because he was so pleased to have met me, he gave me a copy of the Infinite Dreams single signed by the members of the band.

It is an encounter that I will remember for the rest of my life. It still feels completely surreal that, on the other side of the world, I was able to hold a physical edition of my own work in my hands, given to me by the very person who had produced it.

Iron Maiden - Modena, Italy • Monsters Of Rock (10.09.1988)

Thanks to Travis Bickle! Another exhumed archive I had the pleasure to work on. Very low quality of course, but a trace of the show

What song does this remind you of ?

One of the most Maiden-ish parts i've heard in a non Maiden song. It's Xandril, from Germany, with "Lost In Paradise", released in 1986.

This obviously reminds me of Phantom and Dance Of Death.

I'd love to see archives from different eras!

I'd love these archives to be accessible, there are so many cools stuff, shows, throughout the years. They deserve to be shown. I want more Somewhere On Tour stuff, filmed correctly or not.

Nicko about the early days extracts in Burning Ambition

Some weeks ago, I shared my concerns about the possible quality of live extracts and archives in Burning Ambition, saying it might look kinda mid due to some filter, and maybe not reworked for the release. I've seen the movie recently and indeed, they applied a filter on the old footage, and I think that's a missed opportunity to showcase this era properly.

Once again I know the means were limited, you can't do miracles with videotapes and everything, a lot of you did not agree with me and that's fine, I'm happy that we can share our feelings and opinions.

For those who've seen the movie, what do you think about the quality of these archives ?

I'd love the band to re-release such t-shirts

I personally prefer these designs, in particular the colors, and how they look compared to the new t-shirts. Do you think the color palette was more limited in the past?
