TP Link Deco Mesh Help
I'm currently running a Mikrotik HAPAC2 as a router, WiFi disabled, with a set of TP Link Decos forming a mesh network across the house. DNS is handled by a PiHole on a Pi3. DHCP is performed by the Mikrotik.
We have 5 Decos across the house, which in theory could use power line as well as wifi mesh for back haul, but only one does. There doesn't seem to be a way to force power line back haul.
For reasons that aren't entirely clear, individual decos fail irregularly which leaves gaps in the mesh. From a trouble shooting standpoint, I can see when they fail they fail to refresh their DHCP lease from the Mikrotik, but why is unclear. The deco app is virtually useless, and regularly misrepresents the state of the network.
Any suggestions from anyone to help improve the reliability of the decos?
