Perfect replacement for polly?

Perfect replacement for polly?

Do you guys think Bosch is the perfect replacement for pollard which was very much needed since his retirement?

For me, Yes absolutely. Just hoping our management won't trade him off next year.

Guy takes big wickets, brings breakthroughs, catches, death over runs. Proper finisher type guy.

This wicket was such a blunder by the umpire

Naman was given caught behind by the umpire when even he knew that his bat didn't touch the ball.

Later in the replay the hindi commentary analysed the wicket and as per them when the spike was seen it was most probably by the leg stomping the ground and not the ball.

As the shadow of the ball on bat was away from the ball and not as how it should be when edging the bat. It was such a blunder by the umpire.

He could have easily score the much needed 15-20 runs or more.

People really have short memories in cricket

Yes, Suryakumar Yadav is out of form right now. Criticism for performances is fair — personal attacks are not. Mocking a player’s newborn child, making “The last shot he played good was 9 months ago” jokes, or reducing him to chewing gum memes after everything he has done for Indian cricket and Mumbai Indians is honestly disappointing.

This is the same Suryakumar Yadav who:

Became the world’s No.1 T20I batter.

Won ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year twice (2022 & 2023).

Played a major role in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad.

Has over 4500 IPL runs with a strike rate close to 150.

Was Mumbai Indians’ top scorer in multiple seasons, including 605 runs in IPL 2023 at an insane 181 strike rate.

Scored 717 runs in IPL 2025 at a strike rate near 168 — one of the best batting seasons by any MI player in recent years.

People calling him “finished” are forgetting what SKY has done for years:

2022 T20 World Cup: 239 runs in 6 matches, including one of the best innings on the difficult Perth pitch vs South Africa.

From 2018 onwards, he became the backbone of Mumbai Indians’ middle order with consistent high-impact seasons:

512 runs in 2018

480 in 2020

605 in 2023

717 in 2025

Helped MI win titles and changed how modern T20 batting is played with his 360° strokeplay.

Form is temporary. Class is permanent.

Every great player goes through rough patches: Virat Kohli did. Rohit Sharma did. MS Dhoni did.

But social media today treats one bad phase like it erases an entire career.

Supporters can criticize cricket. That’s part of sports. But dragging family, children, or personal life into it crosses a line completely.

Suryakumar Yadav gave fans countless match-winning knocks, impossible shots, unforgettable moments, and years of entertainment. The least he deserves during a rough patch is basic respect.
