Bike theft - Kanata

Hey folks, I’m new to Ottawa (Ontario in general). And I’m getting a bike for my commute ($600). I am kind of new to biking as a whole, and I wanted to ask about how the bike theft is in Kanata? I’m not really worried about the bike being stolen at my workplace or at home, more so for when I am running errands like going to the gym or Costco. What kind of locks should I be getting? Thanks!

I had these two shortlisted from amazon. Do I need both or would the U lock alone suffice? (But then cant attach to both wheels)

Getting my first bike

Hey guys, I’m new to cycling/biking. I want to get a bike for my commute (15 km/day round trip). I’ve only had experience riding entry level bikes so far (less than 300CAD). My current budget is probably 500-800CAD, although it’s flexible in that I’ll happily go up or down a bit for a good deal. Its on sale right now and it has an aluminum body with hydraulic brakes. From the limited research ive done, this seems good for the price? Has anyone heard of this company before? Is it decent? The one downside is its online only and that it requires a bit of assembly upon receiving it.

I’d love to hear some thoughts and get some guidance! Thanks!
