ambulatory wheelchair users, how did you know you needed one?

So I am seventeen and I have POTS and hEDS. I generally have a pretty good pain tolerance but standing or walking for extended periods of time causes so much discomfort and pain for me that I’ve been considering asking my doctor about a wheelchair. At the moment I sit to do most everything around the house and I find myself more and more often dreading things I used to be excited for because I know how exhausting it will be for my body. The concept of a wheelchair sounds both nice and a little scary and maybe unnecessary like I can walk and I’m choosing not to and it’s such a long process it seems.

Does anyone wear hinged afos? If so, what’s your opinion on them?

For some back story, I have pots and eds and I am starting to suspect some type of neuropathy. I already wear Taos orthopedic sneakers but those aren’t doing enough. I have ankles that over-pronate, plantar fasciitis, arch pain, frequent ankle rolling and strain on uneven ground, and a kinetic chain reaction that makes my knees and hips hurt as well. I currently am pretty sedentary and spend most of my time at home because getting out and moving and being on my feet like most people can is uncomfortable which is also why I have yet to get a job. By the end of the night my joints and bones hurt and ache incessantly if I’ve been on my feet. I’ve done a lot of online research and consulting and I seem to have come to the conclusion that some sort of brace like hinged afos along with physical therapy is an appropriate and likely to be prescribed solution but I’m kinda unsure so I wanna see if people think that they help.

How did you know you were diabetic?

So I had briefly monitored my blood sugar a year-ish ago alongside another health issue and it was completely normal. Now a year later, I have been feeling really exhausted the last week or so to the point of napping in the middle of the day which I normally never do. I am monitoring my sugar and as of now it’s just on the slightly more elevated side of normal but I have been exhausted and had a persistent headache and I am so so thirsty like even if my stomach physically hurts from chugging water it’s not enough. I do tend to have some anxiety but I know that this can pop up quick and I’ve read that you can be at risk before you see any blood sugar issues I’m just not sure if I’m being overly paranoid or if something could be becoming wrong

Edit: does anyone know what separate lancets fit with the cvs health advanced blood glucose meter lancing thing? Everything else doesn’t look like what it came with and I threw the box away
