Review of the Beoplay H95 headphones after a week of use.
I love these headphones. They are the sturdiest headphones I’ve ever touched! Sound-wise, it’s what you’d expect from a Beoplay, so it’s pretty good.
Glazing aside, these have a random button that wakes up Siri… I can’t even set it to open my LLM of choice :c I’d rather have no random button at all than a Siri button :))))
The touch sensor for gestures feels really nice, but it’s only on the right earcup 💀
The ANC isn't bad, but I found that having it turned off makes it way quieter than with ANC on, lol. The passive isolation is amazing, but it’s ruined by the ANC.
The transparency mode is nice, but both the ANC and transparency modes have some sort of static sound (which makes the ANC mode way louder and noisier than just the headphones with passive isolation and nothing else). Transparency mode is still nice as the static is waay less noticeable ; it’s just the active noise cancelling that is, ironically, making the noise *less* cancelled than just plain passive isolation.
Would be nice to have the random button be for turning on off the anc. Id keep it always in passive mode since its quieter.
The EQ is interesting, but you can’t boost the bass without sacrificing the highs, which is a wild software design choice, lmao.
But the EQ isn't really an issue because it’s only applied when you connect to the app (you have to do it every time you put your headphones on; the headphones will not remember the EQ you selected, lol). Edit: it should only be mine that are having this bug but they’re intended to remember the set eq.
The wheels feel like plastic, despite them being hugged by metal. The hinges are metal too and feel smooth and buttery. The cowhide leather on the headband is REAAAAALLLY NICE 👌
Lastly, these are my favorite headphones, despite the weird quirks and suspicious design choices these feel like a sexy tank. Sturdy, solid and comfortable. They look nice both in my hands and on my head, with an incredible build quality (especially in the era of planned obsolescence) and i really have high hopes for the future of these h95s.
BTW IVE SEEN PPL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BATTERY NOT BEING REPLACEABLE. Its not true: Beoplay H95 - battery replacement – Bang & Olufsen Support https://support.bang-olufsen.com/hc/en-us/articles/25627462080785-Beoplay-H95-battery-replacement
The battery isn’t soldered, it’s got that plastic connector.
If some b&o employee responsible for the beoplay h95 reads this review, pls make a 2026 edition with the same design but metal wheel controls, fix the ANC, fix the app eq and make the headphones eq less dependent on the app. Actually, give me a job for like 6 months to fix your app and make that button actually useful 🤣🤣🤣
