Tips for a beginner receptionist?
So after looking for a job for nearly 2 years I've found one as a receptionist in a three star hotel and I must admit adjusting takes a tad bit more mentally and takes longer than I'd like so I wanted to ask about any potential tips?
For the record I'm good with people and speak English rather fluently (I'm not a native English speaker) + using computers is not a problem, since practically the whole place runs on one PMS, given the majority of my education since high school is related to computer stuff. I think my biggest issue is fear of not keeping up with "image" of the hotel because frankly being rejected from jobs like wiping floors or serving at McDonald's can mess with your ego and self worth more than expected and now I'm in the fucking 3 star hotel. My supervisors are very kind and patient but that sadly doesn't help me not feel like I'm making a place less functioning just by being there as much as I'd like.
So far I have a trial period but I'd really like to extend my stay there because I feel like having to go through this job hunting bs again might finish me </3 so I gotta perform good
