Mid-Rally in my w123 and loving it

Driving our girl up the middle of Australia and arrived in Alice Springs from Adelaide heading for Darwin.

She’s been a tank. We lost the alternator to water and mud in some river crossings, and were beyond lucky another w123 had a spare. Once started of course she just keeps going … limped into camp with two portable LED lights zip tied to the bumper.

She’s got 900km tomorrow on bitumen and then two more days on gravel before we reach the finish line. Fantastic

Who needs a utility when you have a W123?

Who needs a utility vehicle? Picked up replacement front seats for my W123. I have 4,000kms of travel to undertake in this beast in August, straight up the middle of Australia. Existing seats have no spring left.

One in the boot and one in the back. Perfect.

Crazy whatisthiscar built on a fortwo!!!

Mods I am sorry if this is a form of repost that is not permitted. I did take a quick look at the rules.

This post elsewhere for information on an usual car surprised me with the comment that it is kit on a fortwo. As a smart roadster owner I am not a fan of the suggestion this makes this a kind of roadster !!! but still it’s interesting.

Anyone seen one or heard of this before. Making me wonder what else I could plonk on top of a fortwo …
