After 30 years of playing guitar (my Fullerton Doheny has ruined all my other nice guitars), I decided it was time to own a bass. Snagged a new old stock Tribute SB-2 before they were all gone and I'm curious if anyone thinks it's lacking in any area.

I enjoy tinkering—I'm making a new pickguard from a Musiclily sheet, so it wouldn't be that much more work to change some electronics/controls if there's a good reason to do it. The lack of a tone knob doesn't bother me in theory.

I've about given up on finding a rampage body to build one for myself, but an invader body is within reach and I could fill the neck slot easily enough. Does anyone know how similar these are?

I accidentally got some basswood dust in my rosewood fretboard, and I really like how it looks as it fills the grain with a much lighter contrasting color.

I'm learning there are many superglue options, is that the best path here?

I fear adding CA glue will darken the dust to the point where I lose the contrast and just waste my time in the process. But a wood glue mixture doesn't feel like the best path for a fretboard either, as simply filling the grain isnt the real purpose here.

What to do?
