I might be alone on this one
Okay, so... does anyone else wish that "Hikaru" was actually more evil?
Don't get me wrong, I really love this manga! But when I first started reading it, I was completely hooked by how perfectly it represents a toxic relationship.
Take this panel, for example: after Hikaru hurts him, Yoshiki feels the need to apologize. It's such a realistic portrayal of psychological manipulation and codependency.
I know "Hikaru" didn't mean to hurt him, but we have to remember that a partner doesn't need to be pure evil to create a toxic dynamic.
Honestly, I kind of wish the story leaned even heavier into a pure horror vibe,it has so much potential for it!
That’s not to say I don’t enjoy the current direction. I’m deeply invested and can’t wait to see how it ends because I'm genuinely loving it. Still, I can’t help but think about how incredibly unsettling and dark this story could have been.
What do you guys think?
