HR Calling without texting first
I’ve been recently in contact with two companies that I applied for (one local and the other international) and encountered extremely opposite behaviors. Guess who’s on the negative end 🤦🏻♀️
2/3 HRs from that big local company have disappointed me in all possible ways throughout my application and employment stages. Why? They’ve been spamming my calls without even texting first. Like wtf? One time, the hr spam called me 😭😭 7 consecutive times. Only after the 7th call, they thought hey maybe we should text her first and you know what the hr called me 7x for? Just to confirm some details 😭 (Note: I wasn’t able to pick up because I was at work in a meeting).
Ive been pretty frustrated with them so I resorted here to find out if this is an acceptable or ‘normal’ practice in the recruitment industry. AND TO MY DISMAY, APPARENTLY IT IS??? LIKE WHY?? Sobrang di ko inexpect yung responses ng mga tao to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/JobsPhilippines/s/C3voULqu3h
Because what do you mean OP is entitled by just wanting professionalism from the frontline of the company? I get you’re screening a lot of applicants but hey isnt that YOUR job? Why not do it properly?
AND PROFESSIONALLY.
Oh and before you argue that Im an entitled applicant who cant speak well through the phone, I’m telling you.. i’m not :) and my credentials can speak for that.
I dont know kung ano ba yang recruitment/hiring/screening practice na tinuturo ngayon sa recruitment field, but can we NORMALIZE texting first before calling? And like not spam call your potential hire 😭 Isnt it basic etiquette to assume the person’s not available for a phone call lalo na kung di nya nasagot yung tawag mo nang dalawang beses na?
I’ve had my fair share of application and employment processes but so far only with international companies (based in the PH). I may have assumed their standards unintentionally. But daym, even in the recruitment process we, as Filipinos, are stooping down this low in terms of professionalism?
