How to lock car while AC/Engine is running (2024 Rouge SV AWD)
I recently started traveling with my cat and have a problem where I cannot leave the car with the AC running without locking the car. I can't seem to find any solution to this, the manual mentions locking only when the ignition is off.
It feels like a lose lose if I need to run in and go to the bathroom, especially with how hot its been. I pretty much accidentally left her and my car vulnerable when I went into a gas station to pee and get a bite. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried locking with FOB while engine was running, but when I got back the car was unlocked the whole time...
It is kind of baffling to me, only idea I can find is turning the car off then remote starting it, but I don't want to pay for that.
Any advice is appreciated, seriously feels like a massive oversight...
Edit: solved, my options are
turn car off, lock it, and use remote start via my keys. however I don't trust this method to keep the climate control, which is the primary reason for me wanting to lock the vehicle while running
lock all other doors besides driver side door, use manual key to lock driver door
So 2 is the clear choice for me
