HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2: missing two vital features for triathletes (Feature Request)

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the new HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2. After testing it, I have to say that the hardware, design, lightweight feel, and dual-band GPS accuracy are absolutely outstanding. Huawei has done an incredible job with the hardware.

However, coming from dedicated triathlon watches, I am finding the software a bit too restrictive for multi-sport training. I would love to see Huawei address two crucial limitations in future HarmonyOS updates:

  • Customizable Multisport Profiles: The built-in Triathlon mode is completely fixed. You cannot change the order of the disciplines or create custom combinations. It is impossible to set up a Duathlon (Run-Bike-Run) or an Aquathlon (Swim-Run), which are standard events for multi-sport athletes.
  • Manual Laps/Splits in Pool Swimming: During swim workouts, the physical buttons do not allow you to mark manual laps or splits. For structured pool training, being able to hit a button to log interval times and separate work from rest periods is a fundamental necessity.

The GT Runner series is meant to bridge the gap between smartwatches and high-performance sports watches. Adding these two simple software tweaks would completely open up the device to the entire global triathlon community.

I am sending this feedback to Huawei support, but I wanted to share it here as well. If there are any other swimmers, duathletes, or triathletes here who feel the same way, please upvote this so we can get the development team's attention!

CC2 Wireless conection problems

Hi everyone,

I recently got a CC2, but I haven't had much time to tinker with it yet. So far, I’ve only printed the pre-loaded Benchy and a small model sliced in Orca.

I’m currently struggling to print wirelessly from my PC. While the Matrix app works perfectly, I cannot get a connection from my computer—neither through a browser nor via Elegoo/Orca slicer.

I'm a CS student, so I’ve already tried the usual troubleshooting:

  • Verified the IP address on my router.
  • Tried toggling LAN Mode.
  • Tested multiple WiFi networks (2.4GHz vs 5GHz).
  • Performed a factory reset on the printer.

Two specific things I've noticed:

  • In my router's device list, the printer doesn't show a hostname (like "Elegoo-CC2"); instead, the device name appears as its MAC Address. Is this normal for this model?
  • Error symptoms: In Standard Mode, the browser says "connection rejected." In LAN-only mode, I get a "404 Page Not Found."

My next step is likely a firmware reinstall via USB, but I wanted to check here first. Does anyone know if there's a specific port or service that needs to be manually toggled, or if the MAC address naming points to a network handshake issue?

Thanks

Dry spool box

Hi, I recently bought a CC2, I will be doing a lot of ABS/PETG type of prints and I will need a solution for keeping filament dry while printing as my area is pretty humid and printing technical materials inside is not recommended.

My question is, has anybody tried this solution to the problem, it seems pretty well made as it uses the provided spool holders to rewind the spool if necessary.

Also found this other solution, but the link to the box/aquarium is to china and I can't access it from Europe.

What can you recommend?

Wireless connection for remote input

Hi, I have been experimenting with scrcpy, and I liked the way that you can make a small window that captures the keyboard and mouse, simulating a external keyboard on my tablet. I have tried to make it work completly wirelles with some llms but there has been no good resoult without having to connect a cable or tinker around a litle bit with the script every time.

What I am looking is a script to easily connect to my tablet using the mouse and keyboard emulation, has anyone had any simillar interest and found a solution?

I am running Cachyos wiht Gnome and a Xiaomi pad 6 pro

Reduced footprint

Hi everyone,

I just picked up a CC2 and I'm looking to reduce its footprint. The current "top hat" design wastes quite a bit of vertical space, and having spools hanging off the side makes the printer much wider than it needs to be.

I’ve been researching a few solutions:

  • External AMS units: I've seen some Creality-style systems (like the CFS) or individual drybox setups mentioned here.
  • NextPrint Solutions: I found a "CC2 feed-in chamber auxiliary self-drying" mod that seems to be the most space-efficient, though a bit uggly.
  • Rotary Dryboxes: Also saw some custom rotary drybox for better filament management.

My Goal: I want to combine these ideas—a reduced footprint with filaments stored internally (or more compactly) while maintaining an easy spool-change method, with a good aesthetic like this one Ultimate Sealing Chamber Temperature Exterior Kit

The Big Question: What are the actual mechanical limitations here? Specifically, why do the PTFE tubes require such a massive arch? If I try to tuck everything tighter to the frame, am I going to run into feeding issues or friction?

Thanks for the help!
