affordable alterations

Hello!

I bought some jeans that are to long and I need to get them hemmed. Any recommendations for inexpensive alterations in Phoenix?

Day 101 concentration observations

I think a big reason I used caffeine so much for so long was because of my ADHD. It gave me this initial boost that gave me the sense of productivity. Sometimes it was productive but what I’m realizing now is that it didn’t last that long.

I was astonished that I was able to sit down this weekend for 6-8 hours each day and do homework. Every cell in my body was screaming at me and so terribly bored and uncomfortable but I just sat through it and continued to work on my assignments. It sounds mundane and sure I didn’t get everything one but I did get a lot done. Even after breaks, I could come back, sit down and continue.

I think it’s a testament to the meditation I’ve practiced over several years. Being able to observe the inner dialogue and let it be while doing something else. It’s not perfect, I still certainly get swept away by big emotions but even then, I take a step away and do as much regulation as I can.

When I was still drinking caffeine, it would be extra difficult to notice and choose differently than my thoughts. Much less take long deep breaths and try to regulate for as long as I can.

It might not sound like much but it’s huge for me!

Other things I’m in awe of: I can just wake up and go? Hahaha like what? I don’t need a substance to turn on the ignition? Insane! It’s not immediate sure, but I think I’m more patient.

Anyone else notice subtle changes with reactivity and patience?

Needing a boost!

Any tips for quick boosts in the middle of the day at work? I can’t always step out for a walk or take a nap. What are some quick ways of getting small bursts of energy through out the day? I am needing this especially when I need to start my homework 😩

Quitting caffeine

I quit caffeine 3 months ago and one of the biggest improvements I’ve noticed is with my hidradenitis! It’s like overall inflammation has lowered. Even when I eat my usual trigger foods, I don’t flare nearly as much as I did when I was still drinking caffeinated drinks. My nutritionist suggested if a few months ago and honestly I didn’t think I could! Has anyone else quit caffeine and noticed any impact on their HS?

12 Weeks

coming up on 90 days soon here! 🤞
Overall better except my eating. I think caffeine was masking my issues with food for sure. Hoping to address that more aggressively once my energy evens out a bit more.

Energy is leveling out. Last time I quit caffeine, I’d fall asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. That didn’t happen this time but hopefully as I get more time, sleep will be deeper. For now, doing some sound meditations before bed helps enough.

It’s so nice to not have the heart pounding, all consuming anxiety anymore though.

I’m also surprised at my ability to start tasks and stay relatively focused. I always feel I self-medicated my ADHD with caffeine. It certainly takes more effort without caffeine to jump start the process but it’s doable.

Looking forward to 90days!

Day 68 recap

The first few weeks I was alright, happy to have less anxiety. These last couple of weeks though, it has been rough, the fatigue is really weighing me down. I also have Hashimoto’s and ADHD, so the dopamine adjustment has been rough and I know will go on for sometime. Proud of myself though, there were a couple of times I contemplated just having a sip of someone’s coffee or soda and I stayed strong. I’ve been over relying on sugar though which I know isn’t great either, but that doesn’t end up in soul shaking anxiety, at least not yet.

I haven’t been consistent about movement and diet though and I know that will make a world of difference it’s just hard to get started when you already don’t have any energy.
