Ghosted after intimacy on first date
So, about a month ago (yes, I’m still thinking about it) this guy that I had matched with on hinge months before (he ghosted mid convo & I just moved on & forgot about it) came out of the blue to apologize and ask me out for drinks. I find him to be extremely attractive, and his personality seemed fun & chill so I figured why not? (I am a woman btw).
So, went out for drinks, he seemed a little shy but the conversation was flowing for hours & we went to multiple bars. I could tell he was working up the courage to make physical contact all night which indicated nervousness but overall made him look interested. Anyway, one thing led to another and he ended up coming over. We immediately got into my bed and had an AMAZING time, multiple times. It felt very natural and we clearly had great physical chemistry. Nothing about it felt forced or mechanical & we were both obviously into it. There was eye contact, talking, laughing, etc. It just felt right.
He stayed the night, we slept in and then continued physical intimacy, multiple times. Then, I suggested getting breakfast & he agreed. He was super touchy with me on the subway, initiating all physical contact. Breakfast was kind of quiet but we were tired and hungover so I didn’t think too hard about it. We were definitely chatting but not about anything too deep, you know? Afterwards we went on a little stroll where he AGAIN was super touchy, rubbing my bum and back, holding my hand, stopping to kiss me, the whole nine yards. Eventually we went our separate ways, before which I said I’d like to see him again and he said he’d like to see me too. We kissed goodbye.
Later that day he followed up with “the way I wanted to come right back to yours when I left,” to which I replied “wish you did :).” The next day i asked what his weekend plans were and he just gave me a long list of activities and didn’t suggest an alternative time to see each other. I felt bold and texted later that day asking to see him on Thursday (the first date was Monday) & he said he would totally be down but he has a birthday party.
I left him alone until the following Monday & reached out again to ask how his weekend went. He took days to reply, eventually giving me yet another long list of stuff he did, then he asked how mine was. I said it was great blah blah blah, then I decided to prompt a second date ONE more time, and he completely ghosted me. OH and in the middle of all of this I noticed that he deleted his hinge profile and MADE A NEW ONE.
What the f*ck was that?? This has never happened to me before. I’ve had one night stands that have never turned into anything. It’s disappointing when it happens but jut not to this degree. It has left me feeling so disgusting, confused, insecure, and worthless. It sounds dramatic but I just feel defeated. Someone please provide me some sort of insight into why people behave like this.
