bringing kids to moshpits
sorry if this isn’t the right subreddit to ask this but i figured this subreddit would be best to ask about how people generally feel towards parents bringing their small children to moshpits because i’ve gotten some conflicting responses on it…
i went to a Black Veil Brides (not sure if they count as metalcore but i figured they’re close enough) concert last night and i noticed a guy holding a kid about 3-5 (probably 3) years old in the pit, his wife took the kid so the dad could mosh but later he went back to holding the kid while still being in the pit and people were giving him dirty looks so i told him to get the fuck out if he was gonna hold a toddler cus like… that’s super unsafe right? the other people there were chill and helped people up when they fell but obviously like any other pit they were bumping into everyone, even people that weren’t in the middle so i feel like it definitely wasnt safe to hold a kid that looked REALLY young. i asked around and other people at the concert, my friends, and my coworkers all agreed that he was a dick for bringing his toddler but my mom said it wasn’t my place to “judge his parenting” and i should’ve minded my own business. this was only my second rock(?) concert ever and my first time in/near a moshpit but regardless i feel like it’s common sense to not bring a child (especially not one that young) to a circle of people running into each other 🤷♀️ lmk!
