In Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003), when the Bride lands in Tokyo, the skyline is a miniature set from a Godzilla movie.
The Tokyo skyline seen when The Bride lands is a miniature set.
The production repurposed miniature sets originally built for the 2001 Godzilla film Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack to double as Tokyo.
This decision was made to evoke the aesthetic of giant monster movies, a homage arranged by production coordinator Shinji Higuchi, who had worked on both films.
