University of Freiburg MSc Computer Science asking for German C1 although program is English-taught?

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for the MSc Computer Science (Informatik/Computer Science) program at the University of Freiburg for Winter Semester 2026/27. The program is listed as English-taught, and I already uploaded my English proficiency certificate (C1 level).
However, at the final stage of the application portal, it suddenly asks me to upload a German language certificate at C1 level.

I’m confused whether:
This is a general requirement shown to everyone, or
the program actually requires German C1 despite being English-taught.

Did anyone else face the same issue while applying?
How did you complete your application?

TU Dresden Application Submission Error - Anyone Else Facing This?

Has anyone applied to TU Dresden and successfully submitted their application?
