My on-street charging setup

It took a long time to get this finished, but I thought there may be some here that find it useful.

I applied for planning permission for a cable gulley, and got planning excemption. I'm in county Waterford, but my planning letter with the reference number is in one of the attached pics, and its my hope it sets a precedent and can be used as a reference in other planning applications.

I live on the main street of a small village, right next door to a pub, so I wanted the charger recessed and inside a cabinet. I got this box off amazon and made a small 3D printed cable outlet for it: Outdoor Waterproof Electrical... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FV8BF9SH?ref=ppx\_pop\_mob\_ap\_share

I found a local builder to install the KerboCharge gulley. It took one guy about 2.5 hours, and most of that was waiting for the grout to dry. I got mates rates for the install, but I did drop him round a nice bottle of whiskey to say thanks!

I'm super happy with the result. Now I just need to save my pennies and get an EV!

First plugin. What will I build? [DISCUSSION]

I've worked in the WordPress space for many years, and recently I've been upskilling and getting into development. I'm really enjoying it, and I've set myself the challenge of trying to get a free plugin listed on .org by the end of the year.

I'm not doing this for profit, just practice and to learn something new. I want to figure out how it all works, and see if I can actually achieve this goal.

The technical side of things I'm fairly confident with, but my challenge now is inspiration. Every idea I have, someone (usually many someones) has already done it.

I know I won't get thousands of installs even with the best idea - but I would like to build something that a few people actually use!

What is one simple feature or functionality that you would like to add to your site that you currently can't find the perfect fit for? I'll start coding the best idea on Monday.

Anthbot M5 for a small garden almost completely surrounded by raised borders?

Can anyone with the Anthbot M5 tell me if this model would be suitable for my garden?

I have raised beds/low walls bordering my lawn on most sides. Nothing too high that would block signal, that's not my concern - I'm just wondering how good the mapping is at following edges like this?

I know I'll have to take my trimmer and tidy up the edges, but I want to be sure I'll be tidying up just a thin strip, not a couple of feet.

I'd rather not splash out the extra for the lidar version if I can get away with it.

Any advice is appreciated.

Gateway install outdoors?

I had my system installed Monday, and I'm absolutely delighted with it - nearly 52kwh produced in its first full day active!!!

I've one question about the gateway install after browsing photos of installations on Facebook though: lots of people seem to fit a canopy over the gateway when its installed outside. Mine is outside, and fairly exposed, but the installers told me everything is IP rated.

Is the gateway less waterproof than everything else? Should I be worried about it, and should I plan to add a canopy over it?
