Columella scar

I had my stitches removed 3 days ago after a revision rhinoplasty, and I’m honestly so stressed about my columella scar.

The first time I had rhinoplasty, my scar was red but it was never raised like this. This one looks more elevated and u can see where the stitches were, and I’m terrified it’s going to stay or heal that way. Has anyone had a similar-looking raised scar that eventually flattened and became barely visible? If so, I’d really appreciate if you could share your experience or even before/after photos! Please send a dm

I’m already using scar gel consistently, keeping the area clean, and following my surgeon’s instructions. My mind is already jumping to laser treatments because I’m so anxious.

When is it usually safe to start laser treatment for a rhinoplasty scar? And what about tretinoin, has anyone used it on their columella scar, and if so, when did you start? Any tips appreciated

Could really use some reassurance right now. Just want improvement on the scar asap..

Swelling reassurance (rhinoplasty)

I know it’s most likely swelling, even though my brain keeps telling me it isn’t.

I had a revision rhinoplasty about two weeks ago. I previously had a Gore-Tex implant, but I had it removed and replaced with rib cartilage. I specifically asked my surgeon for a very natural result. He also lifted my tip a bit, but nothing else was really changed (no alar base reduction or anything like that, but lifting the tip would slim the nose a bit.

What’s frustrating is that I asked for a natural result and I got one, yet now I’m worried it’s too natural. I know that sounds a bit dumb because that’s exactly what I wanted. I can definitely see that my tip is more projected and lifted than before, but it still feels very large, and I’m scared that this is actually my final result rather than swelling.

The reason I’m so anxious is because my first rhinoplasty didn’t really improve my tip. They only placed a Gore-Tex implant, which, looking back, mostly weighed my tip down. It became flatter rather than more projected, and it stayed bulky. Because of that experience, it’s really hard for me to believe that swelling alone can make such a big difference this time.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If your tip looked really big at around one month but shrunk significantly over the following months, would you be willing to share photos with me (privately is totally fine)? I think I could really use some reassurance right now.

Dimples/dents on the nasal wings

As you can tell from the picture, I have two dimples on each side from my rhinoplasty. I had a rhinoplasty with rib graft. The stitches are still in. I was wondering if there is anyone who had the same dimples and if they went away. I asked the doctor which said that the areas will gradually fill out and go away. Anyone who had the same and did it actually go away? (Sorry for typos and grammar, English is not my first language)

Need reassurance. Feeling anxious after revision

I had a revision rhinoplasty where my implant was removed and replaced with a rib cartilage graft. My surgeon also added cartilage for extra tip support, and I’ve heard that’s supposed to help prevent the tip from drooping over time.

I’m feeling pretty anxious right now, and honestly I’m annoyed with myself because I know how the healing process works. I know it’s still very early, but I can’t stop stressing.

I had my cast removed today (day 10), so I know my nose is still extremely swollen and that what I’m seeing now isn’t the final result. But for some reason, it doesn’t feel like it’s just swelling. My nose feels incredibly hard and stiff, which makes me think this is just how it’s going to look.

My biggest concern is that my tip looks way too projected. I’m not used to having a tip that sticks out this much. With my old implant, my tip had very little support, so it drooped downward and didn’t project as much.

I understand that the added cartilage is there to support the tip and help keep it from drooping, but is there still a chance that the tip will become less prominent as the swelling goes down? Has anyone experienced that?

To make things worse, nobody knows I had this surgery, so I think part of my anxiety comes from worrying that people will notice something is different now.

I guess I’m really just looking for some reassurance from people who’ve been through something similar. Did anyone else feel like their tip looked way too projected in the beginning? Did it settle as the swelling went down? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences because I could use some help calming myself down.

Just had my revision. Anything I should be thinking about when it comes to healing?

I had my revision yesterday. I previously had an implant in my bridge. But decided to use rib instead because I don’t want to stress about infections or the outcome later in life.

I would love to hear any tips or tricks to help the healing processs! And also, when did you remove the cast and stitches?
