Generator recommendations for home backup/semi-remote.

Hi all.

Looking for recommendations for a generator for home backup for emergencies/power outages. We moved to the mountains and just experienced our first outage for 18 hours but a few months ago we had a huge snow storm and were out for several days. The most important thing is it needs to be able to run a well pump, fridge (extremely old) and deep freezer. Those are the biggest necessities. It does get hot in the summer so might also need to run a window unit AC for a few hours at a time. Ideally would also like to be able to use the tv/internet because I have kids but its not a necessity. Would prefer something quiet but we're on 10 acres so I dont think the neighbors would mind. Im also thinking maybe something small/solar for little things like charging phones. (I know this group isn't really geared towards solar powered generators but figured I'd throw that in there. TIA!

I've recently been toying with the idea of becoming a Notary. The course is short and inexpensive and its something I can do casually/flexibly, taking on more clients or less if I want. Im a SAHM with two young and extremely needy children so I need something flexible. Something I can schedule when my husband is home or when I have other childcare, or my kids are asleep, or weekends, etc. Are there any similar side hustles or jobs where I can get some sort of certification or take a course and use it to make money? Open to any other ideas as well, it just needs to be flexible. My husband recently got laid off and it got me realizing I need to step it up. Im even open to part-time/remote employment, I just didnt want to go through the hassle of the interview and hiring process since I havent worked in several years. Im no good at video editing so any sort of social media freelancing is probably a no go.

I know i will need to hustle and market myself if I want to get any clients. But I live in an extremely small town of less than 700 people so im hoping i can use word of mouth to my advantage.

Looking for a bar soap that is relatively affordable and clean ingredients, particularly without Castile soap if possible. We occasionally use Dr. Bronners but Castile soap is drying so I dont like to use it long term. Its also kind of expensive but everything else seems to be more expensive so am I looking for a unicorn here? We mostly use liquid but I go through phases where I like a bar instead.

If someone has a better community to ask, please let me know. Obviously we have already been in contact with multiple unions employees regarding this situation and no one has given us answers.

My husband is a HDRW for OE3, he's a journeyman but only 4 years in so not vested yet. We recently relocated 2 hours away and he intended to find a job closer but with the winter weather no one has been hiring. He's still technically employed, he has not been fired, but since we moved his supervisor has been telling him there is no work, but he's been outsourcing the work to third party contractors. So my husband went on the out of work list in the meantime and has applied to 3 other companies. Its a weird situation because we're dealing with two different territories and reps. My question is, for any other Local 3 people, is his supervisor allowed to do this? He won't fire him because he doesnt have cause but he's basically freezing him out, likely in hopes that he will quit which my husband's business rep has repeatedly advised not to quit. They were supposed to be opening an investigation into why this is happening but its been weeks and we're getting the run around and no answers while my husband hasn't received a paycheck in almost a month. We're just not sure where to go from here or if/how to escalate things. We were hoping he'd be hired on by someone else already so it wouldn't be an issue but we're getting dangerously close to not being able to pay our bills or feed our kids so we cant really play the waiting game. Any advice? We are in Northern California if that matters.
