What exactly is the difference between what you learn in a biomedical science and medicine university course?

Does medicine teach you everything a biomedical course teaches you plus more? I know they have a lot of things in common but what exactly does biomedical sciences teach that medicine doesn’t?

Do you get two offers if you have the points for the first round of your second choice and the points for your first choice’s second round ?

Basically if I have say UCC first choice and UG second choice, and I don’t have enough points for UCC’s first round of offers but enough points for the second round, do I get only the offer from UG’s first round or both that and UCC’s second round (assuming I get enough points for UG’s first round obviously)

Genuinely shitting myself

Got a HPAT result that gives me an ok chance at getting into medicine IF my LC predictions are right and IF UCC or UG don’t go up by more than 1-3 and 3-5 points respectively. August 26 first round offers will be a stressful day.

Realistically, what are the chances UCC will stay under 733?

How much do we think the entry requirements are gonna go up even with a 20% increase in applications?

Are there dangerous area in Cork city?

Hi everyone, I’m thinking of moving to Cork for university come September from Galway. Unfortunately I don’t know that much about Cork city except from a couple of short trips. Are there any dangerous areas to avoid, particularly in the West/South end of the city? Thank you!

How cliquey is UCC compared to other universities?

I’m stuck between going to UG and UCC and one reoccurring issue that other posters have mentioned about UCC is cliquey. I imagine all universities are quite cliquey, but is the culture in UCC particularly that closed off?
