Revisiting Buster's Check-in from Last Season
This was from around late May of last season. Looking like a 1/4 at best?
Also the fact that Buster's evaluation of a player boils down to "He's a dude" explains a lot about the state of this team.

>30% K rate for both players, with Adames at a staggering 67 wRC+ and .600 OPS with RISP.
Devers and Adames have the 2nd and 4th most PAs respectively (324 and 315). They seemingly are locks for the middle of the order every game and almost never sit. Not excusing these two but if you're getting paid > $200 million over the next 6+ years and there seemingly are no consequences for you playing like shit, what motivation do they have? And what does that say to the other, younger players who are busting their asses off every game (Lee, Schmitt) yet still get moved around the lineup whenever their performance drops? At some point the manager needs to step in and either bench them for a few games, or at least move them to the bottom of the order. I'd rather see Christian Koss at the plate with runners on than Adames at this point.
Wanted to discuss the decision to pinch hit Bericoto for Haase with my fellow Giants fans who are still masochistic enough to watch the games. This was in the top of the 8th with runners on 1st and 3rd, with the score 6-3. Obviously it wasn't the only reason for the loss, but it was another decision that I didn't understand in a moment that could have sparked some momentum for the Giants. Victor Bericoto's last AB prior to today was 10 days ago on June 10 against the Nationals. He also only had 17 career ABs before today's game. Obviously your other right-handed pinch hit options in that situation aren't great, but I would rather use Susac there who at least is hitting regularly in the lineup and has been in these situations before.
Curious to know other people's thoughts. The outcome probably would have been the same either way with Susac, but I feel like Tony's been putting Bericoto and Kennedy into a lot of these situations that are too big for them. And to be fair to Tony the pinch hit options he has are pretty horrific, but I also feel like this is not great for the confidence/development of younger players.
