Recently I experimented with something exciting — driving Revit using ChatGPT to generate a 5-storey building. Here's how it went:

Step 1: Start with a Prompt Asked ChatGPT to generate a 5-storey building with assumed dimensions and parameters.

Step 2: Let AI Do the Heavy Lifting ChatGPT generated a Python script compatible with Revit/Dynamo.

Step 3: Prepare the Environment

• Opened a new Revit project
• Enabled 3D View
• Launched Dynamo Player

Step 4: Bring the Script into Revit

• Created a new Dynamo script
• Opened Python node editor
• Pasted the ChatGPT code

Step 5: Run & Generate Clicked Run… and a 5-storey building got generated inside Revit!

Step 6: Reality Check It wasn't a one-shot success. There were errors, iterations and a lot of debugging — but that's where the real learning happened!

Key Learnings:

• AI doesn't replace expertise — it amplifies it
• Understanding Revit logic + Dynamo + API basics is still crucial
• The future belongs to those who combine domain knowledge with AI
