Well overdue repot.
After living its life out in a tall narrow pot. It was time to give it the room it deserves.

After living its life out in a tall narrow pot. It was time to give it the room it deserves.
First real attempt to make a tree a “bonsai” does it look any good? For a beginner…
New beginnings for this little clipping standing tall in front of the mother tree. (Had fallen off tree during move and didn’t want to just throw it away)
Beautiful big tree around 15-20yrs old.
Nice thick woody trunk. Lots of good wild matured growth for cuttings. Great for bonsai
Was “a once in a life time deal” at only $30au
Question is.. I wonder how many trees this “one” is going to make!
From then till now…still a lonnng way to go for this little one….but I can see great potential in this one.
PLEASE HELP! I would like your suggestions please.
From start (second pic-tree badly potted and slowly rotting) to now. I had to severely remove the rotten roots (pics 3/4) so I took the opportunity to give it some structural movement. Last pic is my care plan (if anyone is interested)
Now wiring I’am questioning the trees “front”
A light styling with an added piece of wood I’ve been working on recently (and still working on whitening) I think it would make a good Phoenix graft one day for this juniper..the aim is to grow out those bottom feeding branches to thicken the trunk and to eventually become their own Shari deadwood feature. (Kinda imitating this Tanuki)
My second time at wiring a tree. Crown of gold tree Australian native beautiful heart shaped foliage and bright yellow followers. I got this one young so I could take advantage of it and manipulate its trunk early. I think I have successfully done that here with a different wiring technique XD
After many years of interest and a few killed purchased trees (years ago). I’ve recently discovered a renewed passion for the art and craftsmanship of bonsai and what makes nature so special.
This is a NEEM tree. Around 2yrs old that I purchased to bonsai. (probably not the best tree for a beginner..but it’s different and I kinda like that;)
I tired to wire it in my favourite style (Moyo-gi) or “informal upright”
How did I go at my first wiring attempt? I’am proud and I do believe I have done a good job but I would still like to know if and where I can improve etc. (Note: it is difficult to shape the woody trunk and it’s currently winter in Australia so no pruning etc)
