Can this branch be fixed? 😭

Can this branch be fixed? 😭

I’ve been stupidly enough to put a stick on this branch to make some distance between tho two, but now it just looks weird, will it straighten up over time or is there even a fix? If I prune it back I’m afraid it wound grow back again 🤦

Adopted 30 year old never pruned jade tree

I was gifted this 30 year old jade plant. Thought I’d share some pictures of the process of moving, pruning, and repotting it.

The Jade plant is a soft wooded evergreen shrub that makes an excellent bonsai tree for beginners

Several sprouts from the same spot?

I did a hard prune recently and my jade have been experiencing some explosive growth since. There are several new sprouts all growing out of the same spots and out of each other. I'm not sure if this is good for them and I should get rid of some or not?

How to Prune

Okay guys, I’ve had my Jade for 3 years now and I didn’t know you were supposed to prune them and I was really confused as to why he wasn’t becoming a tree😭😭 so now he has lots of new growth but since I never pruned him he just grows up and he’s too heavy. So likeeee…can I still prune him, and if I do, how far down should I cut (I feel like it has to be really far down if I want him to be a tree and that makes me sad)

Help with sick jade plant?

So, about four months ago I bought two small jade plants. They've grown quite a bit, and they stay in identical conditions, but one looks okay and the other one always looks sickly.

First two pics, the plant was sold as a Red Akai. I've since seen that that's not a recognized cultivar, so can anyone tell what type of jade plant that actually is? Second two pics are of the sick-looking plant, which was sold to me as a Hummel's Sunset. I know that plant is supposed to turn yellow, but it's not supposed to have this sickly yellow look, is it?

Additional information...

  1. They both stay in full sun pretty much all day long.

  2. They both have had mealybugs on them, though I've been keeping a close eye and have never seen more than two or three at a time. The sickly looking plant has also had some kind of small caterpillar looking thing on it which seems to secret some sort of sticky substance. I think that's what chewed up the leaf in pic 4, but I've never seen more than two of them at a time and I don't think that's the major problem going on here.

  3. Both plants live in a pretty humid environment, but they stay out of the rain and I only water when the leaves get limp.

  4. Both plants are potted in a mix of perlite and Miracle-Gro Cactus Palm and Citrus soil.

Any ideas what's going on here, and why one plant looks so much worse than the other even though they are in identical conditions?

Should I prune my jade?

It seems very top heavy and I’d love if there were more leaves throughout the body of the plant. Any suggestions for pruning?

Any suggestions for stalled growth?

These are propagated cuttings that I moved from water to soil like two months ago. They started pushing some new growth on the top (and the little guy at the bottom) but have since stalled out.

I recently found mealy bugs, cleaned the leafs with alcohol and haven’t seen them since but I didn’t check the roots. Any suggestions? Repot separately, pot down in size? Prune? They’re under a grow light and I take them outside when it’s hot and sunny, the soil is cactus succulent mix. TIA!

Propagation

Hi, i started my propagations like a month ago and they have started to get some tiny roots and new growth. I just put them in separate cellular boxes so they can start rooting into some soil. Am I doing alright or do I need to put them a bit tighter in the ground? I just put them the soil and think they will find their way into the soil. Can I get some help on watering etc? First time im doing leaf propagations.

Big prune before summer

Separated one of my bigger (new) jades into its own pot. Also, gave it a better draining mix, and a nice big prune. Left a few leaves hanging around to help with photosynthesis.

My favorite, but most pitiful and neglected, plant

Any advice is welcome. It’s been a while since I’ve taken care of my plants and the nursery I’ve started, so I would like to take this time to apologize to them and get started on improving their QOL. I think this is the place to start. Any thoughts, questions, comments, shaming, advice is welcome. Thank you!

Very old jade plant - what’s going on?

My boyfriend’s jade plant, which he thinks is about 20 years old. It has these white spots and seems pretty sad. We just repotted since was falling over and now stands a little taller. Fungus? Just sad?

Separate or keep together?

Hi, I'm repotting my jade plant today.

I'm just wondering if I should keep them together in the same pot or move them into 2 separate pots.

The thicker stem on the right is 1 plant and the 2 smaller stems on the left are the same plant.

Is this a Jade plant?

hello! i was wondering if this is a jade plant. it’s my girlfriends and it’s looking a little sad, it was her aunts who has passed away and really wants it to be healthy and give it the proper care

A pleasant surprise, she normally won’t flower for a year after a repot.

The smaller plants are all cuttings a bit under a year old. I prefer a bonsai influenced pruning, as you can see in the pic of the mother plant. I always prune harshly but cut a bit too much back at the start of summer, it now being the end of autumn. No major drama of course, I was just a bit too enthusiastic that day and I’ll live and learn.
