News from SBI Chairman

📌 BIG SHIFT IN SBI WORK CULTURE

SBI is gradually moving towards a more sales-driven banking model.

According to SBI Chairman C.S. Setty, some branch employees may now be shifted into dedicated sales-oriented roles.

The bank also plans to train staff specifically for:

• Cross-selling banking products
• Selling insurance products
• Promoting investment-related services

📌 This could significantly increase pressure on branch employees:

▪️ Higher sales targets
▪️ More focus on insurance & investment selling
▪️ Increased cross-selling expectations
▪️ Stronger daily performance monitoring
▪️ More pressure alongside regular banking operations

💡 In simple terms:

Bank jobs may no longer remain limited to customer service and operations. Employees could increasingly be expected to perform like sales executives as well.

⚠️ This marks another major step toward a high-pressure, target-based work culture in Indian banking.
