Help with EasyLock Tilting Tripod

Hi everyone- I’m a brand new student and I am also a professional guitarist, so ergonomics are super important to me off the bat. I decided to get a tilting tripod for my machine (élan Mira G2) and I was able to find an EasyLock T2 Tilting tripod for it.

However- I don’t know if I’m just dumb or something is amiss, but I cannot for the life of me figure this tripod out. Nothing about it adjusts or moves at all except opening the legs, the mounting head does not move and it’s supposed to. It’s also crooked for some reason. I saw a previous post here about their tripod being stuck but it turned out it had been super glued. I don’t think mine has been superglued?

Am I missing something or is this how this tripod is supposed to be? I emailed the company I purchased it from for help, with no luck. Attached some photos for reference. Thank you!

Do we think the pool will be open today?

I know it was closed all day yesterday for an issue. Today the parks website says it’s still closed but is expected to reopen today at 11am. I was planning on going down there for the first time this morning. Do we think it will actually open, or do maintenance issues usually last longer? Thanks!

Unfairly forced to return a completed study again.

I am so frustrated. I completed a study today that was a creative writing task, was supposed to be 20 minutes but was definitely more. I really thoughtfully wrote for this task and worked hard on it. After the timer was up for writing and I hit “next”, I got an error page that said “Your progress has been recorded, please contact the researcher on Prolific about compensation.” I immediately messaged them, have screenshots of everything including my writing task, of course they didn’t answer so I submitted NOCODE as I had already done a study with them and trusted them.

Well now of course they’ve asked me to return for not finishing and apparently have just ignored all my messages. What do we do about this? This has happened to me with another researcher before and I have a ticket in with support but not much hope. I get so frustrated when they steal data and take advantage of the time and effort put in.

Return study or risk possible rejection from alleged scammer?

Hi everyone! I am new to Prolific and really enjoying it. I was delighted to see a study paying £48 for an hour-long video interview and managed to grab it. I did the entire interview and I think I did a great job. I also recorded some of it and took a screenshot at the end when it was completed, just in case.

After checking the sub I see some folks say this researcher is a scammer and will try to reject people, but he sometimes pays out.. now I’m nervous he is going to reject me, and my account is new, so I don’t want that to happen. However he would have no grounds to reject, so I could appeal it, and he also could just approve it….what do you think? Should I just return the study and risk losing a lot of money?
