lofi channel struggling to get views. Looking for tips

hello there! I've started a lofi channel about 6mo ago (yes, I know VERY saturated) but because I loved lofi myself and thought why not, let me experiment a little bit and have some fun!

However after a few months I see lots of similar channels with similar AI music / image generated and they get 100K+ views and subs while I am barely averaging 20 per video. Just wondering if anyone has insights on how they do it, or is it really just pure luck based on the exposure and views of your first few videos?

I started with doing hand-drawn art style scenery, pivoted to include a bit of anime vibe girls, then miniature tilt-shift scenes, now to just regular pretty girls —trying to see if the visuals would change anything, but I wonder if YouTube has already determined my videos aren't popular based on the first few already? I am uploading pretty consistently about 1 a week as well.

Appreciate any tips and hints!

My 8yo Designed his 1st game and we're looking for feedback! (Genuine & serious)

CONTEXT

My kiddo suddenly wanted to make a game 1 day and the ideas floated around some random dungeon crawler w/strong weapons you can get to now a fighter jet game with different jets and 'weapons' (which we ended up calling SPECIALS in the end). He's been playing some Ace Combat lately on PS5 😅

GOAL

My goal was simply to take him through the thought process and show him the effort and time it takes to create something from scratch, it's not to show/get him to learn any tech or AI this early. I want him to understand and appreciate the effort it takes when you say "I want to make XYZ", not just take it for granted and think it's magically just going to work.

So we focused on the "design", how it works, and just getting this done so we have something finished, not just talks and scribbles on paper that went no where, like our original dungeon crawler attempt 😆

HOW ITS MADE

We used good old pen & paper and I talked/prompted him through elements we'd need for the game like:

  • how many fighter jets?
  • what weapons? what do they do?
  • How many levels are there?
  • What are the battle mechanics?
  • What types of enemies are there and how do you win?
  • How do you 'win' this game?

Then when we have all the rules down, we fed it to AI of course to get it built. I am not a game developer myself (although I am in the UX design profession), and didn't provide any assets to the AI we just relied on what may come out of it. We've iterated already on the 1st version since then to iron out a few minor kinks, and updated the assets as my kiddo requested.

MY ASK

So I want him to keep working on this game as a fun project, and thought he'd be stoked if people actually played it and gave real feedback and I'd share them with him! He already has some ideas of what to improve, but thought I'd put it out here and see if anyone would give it a try and give us your feedback / suggestions / tips here, or directly through the game page! Thanks!!! And please be nice, remember it's a non-experienced dad & 8yo we're working with here, appreciate it!
