Apologies if this has been done before. I’ve had a North Face lightweight jacket for over a decade and it’s been a great servant. I just did some hiking in the Lake District and after a few periods of heavy rainfall I was gutted to find my top wet through after removing my backpack and jacket. It seemed to have come through exactly where the straps were sat of my backpack.

Started researching DWR repair and wash-in, spray on treatments but then it seems Gore-Tex is a membrane and simple washing the garment would repair it. The jacket has been washed several times over the years, and this was my first time wearing since the last wash. I normally air dry or put on the radiator. Just wondering if it’s even necessary to use a product on it or will the gore-Tex last and a proper wash or dry will fix it?
