The Ladder and You.

Depending on what rung on the ladder you are, you will interpret things differently.

People on the lower rungs tend to physicalise everything. They take stories about physical reality literally. They imagine things like the chakras to be physical aspects of the body. They think the human mind is part of the physical brain. They think everything is physical.

People who are higher on the ladder psychologise everything. They take stories metaphorically. They imagine that stories are really about the journey of the human mind. They interpret things like the chakras as stages of psychological development. They think everything is mental.

Ask yourself, can you see the hidden mental story within a physical story?

Example:

The story of Abraham is possibly the most important story in human history, given that 3 of the biggest religions ever are based on it. Taken literally, as it is by those lower on the ladder, it's a story about a God who orders a man to kill his child in order to show his devotion to God. Bizarrely, many people take this story literally and still somehow imagine this is a story about a benevolent God and not a psychopathic one.

When people who are highest on the ladder interpret this story it's a story about how the human mind reaches enlightenment. God is the higher self/unconscious mind. Abraham is the conscious mind. The child is the intellect. The higher self orders the conscious mind to 'kill' the intellect. To kill the intellect means to silence it, to keep silencing it, to keep it silent, with the intention to keep it silent indefinitely. Then after a while enlightenment is experienced, the conscious mind unites with the higher self and then God spares the intellect, allowing it to become active again.
