Back in 2024, I had the worst year of my life. I lost my grandmother from pneumonia and a month later, my first cat passed from old age. I scheduled a therapist and I went through therapy when I was a teenager back in 2007-2010. She was friendly and nice and understood my wants and needs in order to help with my anxiety and OCD. I had to get a job and I only had one job in 2018 and got laid off in 2019 to fully transition into a full time office practice.

I was always excited to see my therapist and get more ways to be more comfortable while applying for a job as I only had one and 2019-2024 I had to take care of my grandparents because they weren't able to take care of themselves. My therapist understood how my feelings were and the bond we had and similar interests we were into (cats, horror movies, crime shows). The job hunting was getting better for mental health...until October 2025, I get a call from the office saying she wasn't feeling well and would have to reschedule. I understood and rescheduled for November.

November came and nothing.... Reached out to her via text message and email and nothing...December reschedule...In January, the office called and said she wasn't coming back. I felt upset and let down.

Was this my fault? Did I put so much pressure on her?

I know the answer is no, but I kept asking myself this and I felt lost and upset.

I found a new therapist in May of this year and...it was okay at first. But not the same as my last therapist. She felt like she was half listening and only gave some tips on how to deal with anxiety of getting a job like mantras and stay grounded. I didn't feel comfortable and felt like I was talking to a boring wall. The office itself was...sketchy. There were no patients, no receptionists and you had to wait in a tiny waiting room. Once I go back to the room, there are other therapists, but they were on their phones and not for patients and just sat around doing nothing.
And so my therapist had to cancel on me the last minute after Memorial Day which understandable as it was a holiday and she came down with a stomach bug. I wasn't going to give her any trouble and understood why she couldn't see me and wished for a speedy recovery. However, my sister had to cancel her appointment a week prior due to a migraine and the office said she had to pay $5 next time she came in for her therapist.

So I texted her that I wasn't feeling well and we can reschedule for next week and...she didn't respond. I thought okay maybe she was busy at the time and she'll get back to me, even though I texted the message at noon. The next morning...looked at my phone...Nothing. I felt distraught again and upset and sick because I have a stomach bug and I cried. My mom takes care of scheduling the appointments for me as I don't like talking on the phone and my mom called the place to terminate going back there and I didn't want to go back anymore. And it went to voicemail. Got a call back a couple hours later with a lady saying to call back and I'm assuming to give her the heads up about a $5 pay for cancelling, even though I left a message 24 hours in advance.

I just...I feel lost and upset and this place wasn't helpful for my anxiety and OCD and ways to find a job without having a panic attack. Any tips on how to deal with this?
