Starting pay question
I just started a casual position with FHA, and was offered to start at pay level 2 on the grid. How is the starting pay level decided? I have a tonne of experience but was nervous to query it without knowledge on the process

BC is a different job climate than Ontario. RPNs also have a starting wage $41 .94 per hr., which is the same as an RN. Below are some postings at a bed based substance use treatment center for women. I’m willing to train the right new grad if 1 yr experience isn’t under your belt.

I have read from previous posts that if you are on LWOP, a ROE will be generated for your last paid day. I was on Leave and then retired. There is a ROE for my last paid day, which was 6 Months before retiring. Should there be a final ROE for when I left? This was back in December and all Service Canada has is the ROE from when I went on LWOP in July. Thank you
I’m working right now and earning 92K per year but the injury is making it incredibly hard to work and my health is deteriorating. I don’t feel like I have enough to retire on the work pension and disability pension but scared to stop working and not have enough. I’d appreciate some help with the math to see if I have enough it not be working based on the balance of my investments in VEQT. Or how much do I have to work if I still have to.
TFSA- 223K
RRSP-164k
RDSP- 274K
Cash account-167k
All of the above are in VEQT
Receiving defined benefit pension 2,000 per month gross. Indexed
Receiving Disability Pension for an injury of 3,100 per month. Non-taxable income. indexed. Payable for another 22 years until age 65.
Expenses are just shy of 50k per year, including mortgage of 1080 biweekly. My husband equally pays 1080 biweekly and his expenses are also 50k. I expenses will go up with inflation. We have 6 years 2 months left on the mortgage (balance of 128k). Rate of 5.45 fixed with ability to renew for hopefully a bit lower rate come September. Equity in the house is 860k.
I’m currently working full time in non profit and considering a casual job with the health authority to get my foot in the door. Problem is, I’d have to quit my full time job and the uncertainty of possibly not getting any hours is killing me. Especially in this job market. Has anyone else recently made such a change, and if so are you working enough hours to live off of?
