How Retro this Retro Solo might feel?

How Retro this Retro Solo might feel?

So I'm thinking about replacing my Fender Tele with Kiesel... I want something a bit more comfortable, but also wanted to ask you guys about your opinion on that:

-Thicker neck profile, or even double thick

-maple fretboard

-Roasted Swamp Ash Body, tung oil finish.

Somehow I am afraid that it might feel too modern and "dry" sounding. Even though the wood choices are as in classic Fender, apart from the "roasted" part. But I like the way it looks and feels with tung-oil.

It's purpose would be not to play any country or rock, but rather jazzy sounds on neck pickup, well, mostly Julian Lage.

My Fender has that very nice, full sound, but lacking a bit of dynamics (as I have there Texas Special pickups, which are rather hot when it comes to single pickups), comfort and fretboard width (seem that the bridge or neck is not perfectly mounted).

Kiesel A2

Long story short, I'm really happy with how it turned out. My search for C#-guitar (BTBAM fanboy here) is done.

NGD - Kiesel A2

Hi,

I thought I'd share my new Kiesel.

It's really basic visually, but I like that simplicity in guitars.

Spec-wise:

-A2 with Floyd Rose, white/white raw tone.

-Aero headstock - I think it looks really nice and suits A2 body! Haven't seen A2 + Aero so far

-Thinner, maple neck with rosewood fretboard

-Vantium bridge + Beryllium neck pickups

Based on how this one turned out, I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering another one, as I had another build in mind for some time.

I plan to use this guitar to just learn BTBAM covers, I ordered it quite spontaneously after their concert, as I wanted something close to what Paul is playing. I was never a fan of putting any sticker's etc on a guitars, but I like BTBAM so much, that I made an exception and put part of the ticket in the cavity. :) BTBAM, Julian Lage, Rival Consoles - if would need to stick to 3 bands/artist for the rest of my life, that would be my choice, but that's another topic. ;)

C# is not extremely low, but pretty low in my opinion (especially trying to stick to 11-56). I earlier had RG3120 and JP6 in that tuning and A2 seems to be the best in handling it! In terms of how it feels under the fingers, and how it sounds - still awesome clarity, attack and sustain!

Nothing really to complain about, I'm happy with every aspect of the guitar and I think I can confidently say that the search for my BTBAM-guitar is over. :)

Hi,

I currently own a Fender American Original 50s Tele with Texas Special Pickups and I kinda' love how it feels and sounds. Although I'm not a fan of high-gloss neck and body, the strings are a bit too close to the edges... and I'm a Kiesel fanboy. ;)

I was thinking about replacing it with Retro Solo (Ash body, thicker neck profile, maple neck, maple fretboard, raw-tone finish). What I'm afraid of is loosing that, fat, warm, edge-of-breakup sound, especially form the neck pickup (I'm also fanboy of Julian Lage ;) ) . This is quite amazing for me, honestly.

So what are your experiences with Retro Solo? Does it still feel rather modern, or you can get a vintage vibe with such spec? (although that Fender is still from 2020, or sth close, so not a vintage model by any means, they somehow made if sound great)
