Hell of a wholesome story happen to me today
Long story short, I used to have a childhood friend who really loved YGO, and we usually exchanged cards as kids. I stayed in contact with him until 2nd grade in elementary school, then we went radio silent after that, like we completely nearly forgot about each other.
So, I went to a Vietnamese local today in my city with my YGO group. We had a great time dueling each other, and then I got matched up with a guy who is the same age as me. We dueled for 4 matches; he played a Spellcaster deck and I played an Angelechy Junk deck (the results were 3 wins and 1 loss for me because my hand bricked and got disrupted). After that, we went to discuss things with other duelists at another table. One of them asked where his house was, and when he gave directions, I realized it was the same place where my childhood friend used to live. We then recognized each other after a few questions, bonding again after 11 years of forgetting each other, and exchanged contacts for future duels at locals. The crazy thing is, before we realized who we were, we spent like 3 hours in the locals without noticing each other, even while dueling
I can't believe the game I loved as a kid helped me find a lost friend who shares the same hobby.
