Stoos hike weather advice

Had a plan to do the ridge hike on top of Stoos. I'll be in Lucerne Thursday and Friday and right now Thursday seems the only viable weather option. Based on meteoswiss, what is your read on 1) should I try and go despite the overcast/ rainy forecast and 2) what is the hike actually likely going to be like (ie cloudy, foggy, ...)? I'd be there first thing when the lifts open.

Germany Switzerland itinerary questions

Hi! We're a family of 4 (14 and 16 YO kids), flying in/out of Frankfurt from Seattle, rental car. Rough shape itinerary below. Anywhere we're overcomplicating or missing something obvious?

  • Nights 2–4 · Heidelberg
    • Doing one river cruise. Rhine Gorge or the local Neckar run? Rhine looks better but messier logistically.
    • If Rhine: is Bacharach + cruise to St. Goar + Rheinfels + Marksburg realistic in one day from Heidelberg, or is that a stop too many?
  • Nights 5–6 · Lucerne
    • Is Stoos as a day trip from Lucerne (6 hrs round trip) worth it, or is there a better nearby option?
  • Nights 7–8 · Lauterbrunnen
  • Nights 9–11 · Wengen
  • Nights 12–13 · Meersburg
    • Is Stein am Rhein worth the ~50 min each way?
  • Night 14 · Frankfurt Airport
    • Meersburg → Frankfurt with one 3-hour lunch stop. Rothenburg, Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen, or Bad Wimpfen?
  • General
    • Peanut allergy in the family. How careful do German/Swiss restaurants actually get if we say "Erdnussallergie"? Any traps in mountain huts?
    • Swiss vignette: confirming a Frankfurt-rented car won't have one and we should buy the e-vignette ahead.

Lynnwood DOL walk-in

Hi, my son just passed his driving test.

He had a learning permit with a picture, which in theory would have allowed him to apply for the license online. The online application though immediately say they need a vision record on file, but offer not way to upload or self certify.

The driving school says we need an appointment, but the first one I see is in September (same thing for all offices in a 50 miles radius). In the meantime, with the permit expired and no way of getting a license online, essentially he can't drive.

Do you know if this is the type of thing where the Lynnwood DOL office would allow a walk in?

My favorite pizza in the world

I'm totally biased, this is the pizza from my local pizzeria when I was growing up. But there is something unbelievable about how the simplest Margherita ingredients and the wood brick oven smoky flavor come together to deliver a pizza nirvana experience. No other pizza in Rome, Italy or US has come close to this for me.
