What is a "car dealer" on a steam railroad in 1910 Illinois (E St Louis, St Clair County, IL)

In the 1910 census for E St Louis in St Clair County, I have a couple of siblings living together.

Jacob lists his occupation as a brakeman for a steam railroad

John lists his occupation as a car dealer for a steam railroad. He is a laborer on the railroad in 1900, and died in 1917 so no further clues from any other censuses.

A search of "car dealer for a steam railroad in 1910" turned up nothing meaningful.

Ancestor was suddenly stricken with "inflammatory rheumatism" and died within seven weeks in 1906 West Virginia. What might this "disease" be called in modern days?

The guy was helping his brother build /superintend the US post office and court house building at Huntington, WV. In September, he went to McKeesport, PA to superintend another post office, but while waiting for materials, he returned to Huntington to assist. During the Christmas / New Years' holiday period, he was superintending the placing of concrete on the roof of the building when "he was stricken with inflamatory rheumatism and the disease became at once so severe that he could not be taken to his home until death came, more than seven weeks later."

I don't think IR kills in and of itself - wouldn't the actual cause be fever and loss of appetite leading to debility and death?

Ancestry.com membership renewal - is the following scenario possible?

So, six months ago, I bought myself an All-Access gift membership for $269 and successfully redeemed it on my existing account. Now it's expiring, today, May 27th. A six-month regular, renewal, or gift membership is $499. Holy sh*t!

Ancestry is advertising a six-month All-Access deal at $269 for *new* or *returning* members and specifically states it is not for renewal of current subscriptions. The offer expires tomorrow, May 28th.

Can I cancel my membership one day early (today) and then purchase the deal advertised at $269 since technically I'm a "returning" member?

If not, I'm going to have to cancel my membership, 'cause $499 is just obscene.
