Be careful out there, my GF sisters and brothersd

Spouse just bought a bento box yesterday to bring our "airport" snacks on our flights. I asked him if it was dishwasher save and he looked at the label and said "I don't think so, it's made out of wheat fiber."

We both did a sitcom-worthy double take.

I've been GF for over 15 years and it never occurred to me to be cautious about "plastic" containers. If I hadn't asked, the label on the box would have hit the trash and I never would have known. One of my biggest fears is getting sick on a flight with the seat belt sign illuminated. This is the exact reason we bring our own snacks on long flights.

Be careful out there.

I'm relatively new to Florida. A couple of years but, fortunately, hurricanes bypassed Florida completely last year.

What simple preparations do you do before the coming hurricane season? I have several cases of bottled water that we rotate through and will make sure are fully stocked by June. I also keep my laundry soap bottles, the kind with the spout, to fill up as a hurricane approaches to use by each sink for washing water. All, of course, in the event that the water system fails.

I also have several solar lights in my sun room that are always charged. A back up electricity source for internet and phones. And a solar panel that will run my refrigerator for a short time. I won't spend thousands on a generator, however. It would be cheaper to grill up all the food in my small freezer and invite the neighborhood over for a bbq, if it came to that.

What else do experienced Floridians do to prepare their home and family for the worst that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I do not live in a flood prone area and have reasonable drainage away from my home.
